What engraving text can I add to the olive wood board?

You can choose freely: the names of the bridal couple, wedding date, a personal dedication, the coordinates of your first meeting place, a favorite quote, or a combination of these. Accents such as an olive branch, laurel bush, or small trees are also possible.

What type of wood are the boards made from?

All boards are made from genuine olive wood—exclusively from trees that no longer bear fruit. The wood is food-safe, antibacterial, and naturally very hard. The grain, color, and shape vary from piece to piece, making each board unique.

What board shapes and sizes are available?

There are 6 board shapes: rectangular with handle (30–35 cm), natural-edge herb board (25–45 cm, 5 sizes), steak board with juice groove (35–50 cm, 4 sizes), natural-edge antipasti board (35–50 cm, 4 sizes), cutting board with juice groove (30–60 cm, 7 sizes), and natural-edge snack board (20–65 cm, 10 sizes). 32 variants in total.

How long does production take?

After you approve the design, production usually takes 2–3 business days. Shipping within Germany takes an additional 1–2 business days. For weddings coming up soon, please inquire in advance—express options are available.

Is the olive wood board dishwasher-safe?

No—olive wood is a natural product and should not be cleaned in the dishwasher. Hand-washing with warm water and occasional rubbing with olive oil or beeswax will preserve the wood’s beauty for years to come. This keeps the engraving clear and the wood protected.

An olive wood board with engraving is a solid serving and cutting board made of genuine olive wood, which LaserArt engraves with your desired text. Only wood from olive trees that no longer bear fruit is used. Olive wood grows slowly and irregularly; its grain, shades ranging from light beige to golden brown, natural edge, knots, and fine cracks are all part of its character. That is why no two boards are identical—the piece delivered will always differ slightly in its grain from the product photo.

Application

Serving board for cheese, bread, and antipasti

An engraved olive wood board is usually brought to the table as a serving board for cheese, bread, ham, or antipasti. Olive wood is food-safe and naturally antibacterial, so it is also suitable for cutting. However, anyone who cuts on it every day will gradually wear away the engraving, so a second work surface is worthwhile for everyday use. Many boards remain in the kitchen as a visible decorative object after the celebration.

Care

Hand-wash and oil occasionally

Olive wood is cleaned by hand with warm water and a small amount of dish soap; it is not dishwasher-safe. After washing, it is best to dry the board upright so no moisture remains in the wood. Every few weeks, rub it with cooking oil or wood oil: this keeps the surface supple, helps prevent cracks, and makes the grain stand out again. The engraving itself requires no special care.

You can choose between two models: the olive wood board with name and date in four shapes from 25 to 50 cm, and the olive wood board with a city map, which additionally features an engraved map of your chosen location—round, rectangular, or heart-shaped. For both, you can choose one of 18 fonts, the engraving position, and optionally an accent such as an olive branch or laurel bush. We select the board, engrave it within one to three business days, and ship it with tracking.
